How they met…

Brittany & Ian met at a New Year’s Eve party. Ian’s best friend happened to be Brittany’s old neighbor. After Brittany’s neighbor moved away, his family continued to host a New Year’s Eve party every year that her family was always invited to. One year, Brittany didn’t have any plans for New Year’s Eve and decided to go. The rest is history!

Their proposal story…

Brittany’s aunt hosts a summer party for their family (all 30 of them!) every year, and Ian gives baseball lessons. On the day of the summer party, Ian told Brittany that he had a baseball lesson right when the party was supposed to begin. He told her that it couldn’t be rescheduled. When Ian came home, they drove over to her aunts house for the party. When they arrived, Brittany noticed only one of her aunts and her sister in the house. Brittany thought that was strange because everyone is usually gathered in the kitchen and helping each other out during the family parties.

Ian ran out to the backyard to “say hi” to everyone while Brittany’s aunt and sister talked to her for a few minutes. After they were done talking, they started to walk outside and she noticed her entire family staring at her with their phones recording. After a few seconds, Brittany saw Ian in the distance standing in the middle of a circle made of rocks with pose petals leading the way. Brittany’s sister handed her a bouquet and walked her towards Ian. Ian then got down on one knee and asked Brittany to marry him in front of her entire family!

Brittany later found out that Ian wanted to be late to the party so Brittany’s sisters could set up the rose petals and rocks. When they got there, Ian said he was going to “say hi” to everyone so he could get into position. Brittany’s aunt and sister pulled her aside to buy Ian extra time!

The wedding day…

I had been looking forward to Brittany and Ian’s wedding day ever since we had our engagement session at Cross Estate Gardens last summer! I remember them saying that they wanted their wedding to have a romantic, garden feel with lots of greenery. I couldn’t wait to see their vision come to life!

Every detail of Brittany and Ian’s wedding at Indian Trail Club was so beautifully and thoughtfully planned. A few of my favorite parts of their day included the live entertainment (The Nines are seriously amazing!), the elegant floral design, and (of course!) Brittany & Ian’s sunset portraits.

Brittany & Ian, it’s been such a joy working with you both. Congratulations, newlyweds!

If Brittany & Ian receive 30 comments on this blog post, I’ll send them a complimentary 8×10 print of their choice!
