An elegant, classic, and southern inspired celebration….

We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful fall day for a wedding at the Shadowbrook at Shrewsberry. I had such a wonderful time second shooting Lexie & Mickey’s wedding with my friend Jen of Jennifer Larsen Photography. It’s always such a joy to work with her!

We photographed Lexie getting ready in the bridal suite at the Shadowbrook at Shrewsberry. The suite is incredible and complete with floor to ceiling windows, white walls, and plush furniture. Her closest girlfriends helped her into the dress, and her sweet flower girls fluffed out the bottom. After the bridal portraits had been taken and Lexie was ready, we placed Mickey in one of the beautiful gardens on the property. The first look was about to happen and the nerves and anticipation were running strong! Lexie approached Mickey, tapped him on the shoulder, and when he turned around they gave each other the biggest hug ever. First looks will always be one of my favorite parts to photograph during a wedding day. See why I love them by clicking here!

After the first look, we continued to take bride and groom portraits all around the property at the Shadowbrook at Shrewsberry. With the various gardens, classic architecture, and golden hour light, the photography possibilities were literally endless!

The couple shared their vows and tied the knot during a small and intimate outdoor ceremony. After the ceremony, Lexie and Mickey were able to sneak up to the bridal suite and share dinner with each other. That’s right, just the two of them by themselves! I love how they were able to have this moment to soak in all that had happened. So sweet!

The evening continued with dancing, toasts, and the unveiling of one of the most incredible dessert rooms I’ve ever seen. The Shadowbrook at Shrewsberry doesn’t mess around when it comes to desserts! Guests had a plethora of options to choose from including ice cream, waffles, and hot chocolate just to name a few.

Congratulations Lexie & Mickey! To see the full story of their wedding day, be sure to check out Jen’s beautiful blog post by clicking here.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: beach weddings are the best! Katie & Kyle tied the knot in front of the Barnegat Lighthouse during a beautiful, intimate ceremony. The celebration continued in Beach Haven at Parker’s Garage. We had the most incredible sunset that night and we were able to steal Katie & Kyle away for a few moments of portrait time out on the dock!

One of the things that I loved most about Katie & Kyle’s wedding were the details. From the ceremony decor by Rustic Drift to the oyster shell place cards with calligraphy, Katie + Kyle’s wedding day details were so thoughtfully planned. The couple was so sweet to give all of the wedding vendors a dinner table and an oyster shell place card — mine has been sitting on my desk ever since!

I had so much fun second shooting this wedding with my sweet friend Jen of Jennifer Larsen Photography. Congratulations, Katie & Kyle! Check out Jen’s full story of the wedding day here!

Waterloo Village was one of those beautiful places where we would go on class field trips back in grade school. I have such fun memories of running around the property with my friends and learning all about New Jersey’s history. I had no idea that they had created a venue specifically for weddings until recently! I was so excited when my sweet friend Jen of Jennifer Larsen Photography told me that her couple, Candace + David, would be tying the knot on the property! I couldn’t wait to second shoot this beautiful wedding with her.

Candace + David’s wedding day was on Labor Day Weekend. I refreshed the weather app on my phone (as I always do every day for a week leading up to a wedding, haha!) and kept my fingers crossed that the weather would hold out for us. We were in luck, and it didn’t start raining until later in the day…. and it made for some AMAZING night time portraits.

Candace + David chose to have a first look, and because of that we had almost AN HOUR of couple portrait time before the ceremony. A whole hour! We walked all around the property and photographed them in front of the quaint buildings, wooden bridges, and endless amounts of beautiful foliage. Their portraits are some of my favorites from this summer!

Congratulations, Candace + David! Be sure to check out Jen’s blog post HERE to see the full day, and enjoy some of my favorites below!

On their first date, Colleen and Andrew learned that their grandparents owned condos at the same complex in Ocean City, NJ. What are the odds?! They like to imagine that they spent many summers together as children splashing around in the ocean! As fate would have it, they met again online and had their official first date at the Garden State Ale House in 2015.

Andrew proposed to Colleen last summer at the Mohonk Mountain house in New York. He had planned a weekend together filled with adventurous activities like hiking and camping! Colleen had no idea that Andrew was going to propose to her that weekend. After a long, hot and humid hike to the top of Mohonk Mountain, Andrew got down on one knee and proposed to Colleen. And of course she said YES!

Everything about their wedding day was absolutely perfect from the beautiful florals to the Mister Softee truck that came to visit at end of the evening (by the way, I’m now a firm believer that EVERY couple needs one of those at their wedding!). After tying the knot at Holy Savior Church, we went over to a park near Colleen’s house for bride and groom portraits. The photo opportunities were seriously endless! Some of my favorite portraits are in front of the Philly skyline (just wait until you see those!) and the sunset portraits that we took at the Brewery. What I loved most about Colleen and Andrew’s wedding day was how they truly made it a reflection of themselves and what they love the most!

Congratulations, Colleen and Andrew! I had such a blast spending the day with you both. I hope you had a fabulous honeymoon in Montana!

Enjoy some of my favorite images from their wedding day!

When Sarah contacted me earlier this summer and told me that her wedding was going to be at FDU I knew it was going to be a great one. I had been on FDU’s Madison campus once before and was in awe of its historic mansion, Hennessy Hall. The mansion is complete with marble fireplaces, cathedral ceilings, and some of the most beautiful gardens. The perfect venue for a wedding if you ask me!

Sarah and Gianluca met at a restaurant in NYC in May of 2015. They became engaged this past March, and found out that they were expecting a baby girl on the day Gianluca proposed!

Sarah and Gianluca’s elegant, classic, and intimate wedding was such a beautiful celebration. The weather held out for us, and the couple was able to tie the knot in one of the gardens. Many of Gianluca’s family members and friends flew all the way over from Italy to celebrate with the couple. I loved listening to their friends give speeches and readings in Italian during the service! The couple spent the rest of the evening enjoying their guests, dancings, and eating some delicious cake (seriously, it looked amazing, haha!). Plus, we were able to get some super beautiful golden hour portraits. My favorite!

Congratulations, Sarah and Gianluca! Enjoy some of my favorite moments from their day below.

As I drove up the property to Hudson Farms in Andover, NJ, I knew I was going to be attending one very special wedding day. The property was unlike anything I’ve experienced before! I was in awe of the historic mansion, beautiful forests, and the waterfall (!!!) that served as the backdrop to Sarah and Alex’s ceremony.

What I loved most were all of the personal details that Sarah and Alex included on their wedding day. Each groomsmen was given a custom bowtie that was handcrafted with pheasant feathers that fit the day perfectly. The reception was safari themed, complete with a life sized stuffed animal elephant that I may or may not have wanted to take home with me. The evening concluded with an incredible display of fireworks in front of the mansion. It doesn’t get any better than that!

A very special thank you to my sweet friend Jen of Jennifer Larsen Photography for inviting me to come and second shoot this amazing wedding with her! Check out her blog post of the full wedding day by clicking here.

Tom & Lauren’s wedding at The Rock Island Lake Club in Sparta, NJ, was such a beautiful celebration. Between the rolling fog, beautiful florals, and incredible venue, their wedding day was like something out of a fairytale. And we couldn’t have asked to photograph a sweeter couple! I had such a great time second shooting with my sweet friend Jen of Jennifer Larsen Photography.

Every detail of Tom & Lauren’s wedding was so perfectly planned out. Their color scheme was navy and blush (my favorite!), and they carried out the theme through the bridesmaids dresses, florals, and Lauren’s beautiful Jimmy Choo flats! The rainy weather cleared up for us right before the first look, but Tom & Lauren had brought navy and white umbrellas for their bridal party just to be safe — and they helped to make for some beautiful bridal party pictures!

Congratulations, Tom & Lauren! Enjoy some of my favorites from their wedding day, and be sure to check out Jen’s blog post here!

A little rain couldn’t stop us from celebrating Lori & Kevin’s wedding at Perona Farms in Andover, NJ! I had such a wonderful time second shooting for my sweet friend Jen of Jennifer Larsen Photography, and I couldn’t be more excited to be sharing this beautiful wedding with you today! Lori & Kevin tied the knot underneath a beautiful floral arbor surrounded by so many loving family members and friends. Everything about their day from beginning to end was simply perfect…. I didn’t want to leave at the end of the night!

I loved getting to learn about Lori + Kevin’s love story. They are such a kind, relaxed, and fun loving couple! And can we talk about Perona Farms for a minute? Such an amazing venue! Some of my favorite photos from the day are the couple portraits that were taken in front of the barn and silos. So awesome!

Alyson + Andrew’s rustic wedding at The Ballyowen Golf Club was such an amazing celebration. They tied the knot overlooking the rolling hills of Northern NJ while surrounded by so many loving family members and friends. We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day!

The first time Alyson and Andrew met was in the Boston Seaport District through a mutual friend three years ago, and they’ve been inseparable ever since! They enjoy hiking together, visiting breweries, going on day trips to new cities, listening to country music, watching HGTV (a couple after my own heart!), and spending time with their sweet puppy, Lacey.

I loved the rustic country feel of their wedding. They incorporated mason jars, wood, lace, and burlap into their wedding decor which gave the venue such a cozy feel. Plus, their wedding colors were blush and navy…. and it doesn’t get much better than that 🙂

Congratulations, Alyson and Andrew! It was such a joy to be a part of your wedding day. Have a wonderful time in Turks and Caicos!

The getting ready portion of the wedding day has always been one of my favorites to photograph! It’s usually the first time that I get to see my bride and groom since their engagement session, and I love to capture all of the excitement happening around me! Choosing the perfect getting ready room might not seem that important during the wedding planning process, BUT, it actually plays a major role. This is especially true when it comes to having beautiful photographs of you and your girls getting ready that match the overall vibe of your wedding day! Below are four of my favorite tips to help you choose the perfect getting ready room for your wedding day.

Lighting is Everything | Choose a spacious getting ready room with large windows and plenty of natural light. Lighting is the most essential element to creating those soft, airy, and beautiful portraits. Natural light will ensure that you and your girls look your absolute best in all of the getting ready photographs. Plus, your makeup artist will thank you for the window light as well!

Size | Choose a getting ready location with enough space to spread out. Photographers, videographers, hair + makeup artists, bridesmaids, and family members will all be in the getting ready room at some point on the morning of your wedding day. A suite will give you and your girls plenty of getting ready + storage space (YES to clutter free portraits!), and the professionals a little extra elbow room.

Distance | The distance to your ceremony location from the getting ready venue shouldn’t exceed 15-20 minutes. Cutting down on travel time will help to decrease stress! If at all possible, consider getting ready in the bridal suite at the venue location itself. This will help to create a relaxed atmosphere through out the entire wedding day since travel is no longer a factor.

Overall Aesthetic | The getting ready venue should reflect the overall look and feel of your wedding day. For instance, getting ready in a hotel suite might not match the vibe of a rustic chic wedding. As I mentioned before, if possible, choose a getting ready location at the venue itself. Many venues have a bridal suite that will likely match the aesthetic of your wedding day. This will allow me as the photographer to tell the story of your wedding day seamlessly — especially when it comes to album design!
