I’ve put together two sample timelines that will make for a smooth, seamless, and FUN wedding day! The first timeline is for couples who are choosing to do a first look + the second is the traditional approach.
Timeline with a First Look
10:00AM: Hair + make-up
12:00PM: Photographers arrive
12:00-12:45PM: This is when my second shooter & I will photograph all of the details (dress, bouquet, jewelry, perfume, shoes, etc), the bride with her bridesmaids, the bride putting on her dress, and the bridal portrait. We’ll then head over to where the groom and his groomsmen are and photograph their details and portraits too!
2:00-2:45PM: First Look & Bride + Groom Portraits
2:45-3:15PM: Bridal Party & Family photos
4:00-4:30PM: Ceremony Begins
5:30-6:30PM Cocktail Hour: Your bride + groom portraits and family photos are done, which means that you get to go enjoy cocktail hour with your guests and munch on all of the yummy food you picked out!
6:30-7:00PM Introductions, First dance, Toasts: This is a great time to grab some beautiful sunset portraits of you and your husband — this will take only 5-10 minutes!
7:00-8:00PM: Dinner
8:00PM: Father/Daughter & Mother/Son dances and then DANCING TIME!
9:00PM: Cake cutting, bouquet toss, garter
10:30PM: Wedding ends
Traditional Timeline
8:00AM: Hair + makeup
11:30AM: Photographers arrive
11:30AM-12:15PM: Photograph details, bride +bridesmaids, and groom +groomsmen (see first timeline)
1:00-2:15PM: Mass
2:15-2:30PM: Receiving line
3:00-5:00PM: Bridal Party portraits and Bride + Groom portraits
5:00-6:00PM Cocktail hour: This is when we’ll take all of the family formals!
6:00-10:00PM Reception (see first timeline)
