How they met….

Sandy and Vince met on OkCupid, where Sandy encountered a haiku Vince posted on his profile. Not wanting to leave the haiku unappreciated, Sandy messaged Vince commenting on how witty it was.

Their love story is one of patience, affection, support and telepathic connection – finishing each other’s jokes and entrees. Sandy fell for Vince when he showed his generous humor by role-playing as an interviewer for her brother’s school application and when he gifted her warm socks and ginger candies to survive a brutal winter. Vince fell for Sandy when she helped him clearly see his perceived weaknesses as strengths and for her ability to keep up with his endless barrage of puns.

How they got engaged….

Sandy and Vince got engaged July 29, 2018 when Vince proposed to Sandy via haiku atop a mountain in Big Sur, CA after an exhilarating, steep 4 mile hike, capping off a long, festivity-filled weekend!

Their wedding day….

Confession: I usually tear up at least once during all of the weddings I photograph (mostly during the parent dances), but Sandy and Vince’s wedding kept me tearing up all day long! Sandy and Vince have so much love for each other and for their families, and that was so evident on their wedding day.

We began our morning in New Rochelle where Barbara and I photographed Sandy and Vince getting ready as well as all of their beautiful details. The bridal suite that Sandy chose to get ready in was amazing with all of the natural light! From there, we drove over to Harbor Island Park for the first look. Sandy and Vince’s reactions to seeing each other as bride and groom for the first time were priceless!

After the most beautiful wedding ceremony, we arrived at Pelham Bay and Split Rock Golf Course for the reception. It was my first time photographing at this location, and it was gorgeous! I was so excited when Sandy and Vince told me that they wanted to take photos around the property during golden hour. Some of my favorite photos from the day are the ones of them in front of their beautiful, brick venue!

Two of my favorite parts of their wedding day were the incredible choreographed first dance (being a huge Dean Martin fan myself, I couldn’t help but hum along to their song choice: Volare!) and the heartfelt toasts at the end of the night. Vince’s sister shared that no matter how busy life can be for Sandy and Vince, they will always make time for their family member and friends whenever they need them the most. I loved that!

Sandy and Vince, I’m so honored that you chose me to photograph your wedding day. You made Barbara and I feel like old friends, and we had the best time celebrating with you! Enjoy some of my favorites below.
