Say hello to my beautiful friend, Valerie! Valerie & I met on her very first day as a Freshman at Drew University!  During college, I was on the Orientation Committee (yay for the mighty OC!), and each year every member was assigned a small group of first years to welcome into the Drew Community.  As luck would have it, Valerie was assigned as one of my “little sibs!”  We hung out the rest of Freshman Orientation week because, well, that was part of my job description (haha!)…. BUT, we’ve been friends ever since because she’s so awesome and we instantly clicked!

I can remember having a conversation with Valerie that first week about what her interests were and what she was thinking about choosing for her college major. Her response? Neuroscience. And she said it without a shadow of a doubt. Each summer thereafter she would spend at Drew doing research in the lab that she would then present at conferences during the school year.  Now, I’m not exactly sure what she was testing for (haha!) but it was more than clear that she had the passion and drive for all things brain related. It was always evident that this girl was going to do BIG things.

Flash forward a few years later and, not only is she officially a Drew University graduate, BUT she and has an amazing job at one of America’s most prestigious universities in NYC. And I couldn’t be more proud of her.

Congratulations, Val!!! I’m so excited to see all of the amazing things that you will accomplish.  Enjoy some of the photos from our session on our incredibly gorgeous college campus 🙂
